Under SMC 14.25, low-income hotel workers who work 80 hours or more per month at a hotel of 100 rooms or more are entitled to additional wages reflective of the cost of attaining healthcare for your family. You are not eligible to receive additional wages if you earn more than 400% of the applicable poverty guideline for your household, or your employer already offers a gold healthcare plan covering your spouse and dependents for which you are required to pay no more than 5% of your gross earnings per month towards the premium.

The amount your employer is required to pay in additional wages depends on your income from that employer, your family composition, and your projected monthly healthcare premiums.
In order to determine how much you should be receiving in additional wages, you must know:
- Your monthly income from your hotel employer
- The number of people in your family and their ages.
